Vânia Regina Pivello
Vânia Regina Pivello is a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (Ecology Department, Biosciences Institute), where she has been lecturing and researching since 1994 in the fields of plant ecology, savanna ecology, fire ecology, conservation biology, biological invasions. Her research aims to produce fundamental information for the conservation and management of remaining natural ecosystems, as well as to subsidize public policies. More recently, her interests have also turned to urban ecology and sustainability in cities. She has conducted and coordinated several scientific research projects, and provided advisory and technical support to governmental, non-governmental and private organizations, dealing with environmental issues. She is expert advisor to various funding agencies for research and scientific journals.
