Luciano Elsinor Lopes

Luciano Elsinor Lopes has a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of São Paulo (USP), with an internship at Stanford University. He has been a full professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences (DCAm) at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) since 2010, working in the Undergrad Course of Environmental Analysis and Management and the Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences. Those institutions are composed of interdisciplinary teams focused on environmental issues. In addition, he has professional experience in strategic management and project management in third sector organizations (NGOs) and as a member of the Municipal Environmental Defense Council, Advisory Council, and Technical Chambers of Protected Areas. His primary research is in landscape ecology, emphasizing the ecology of plant populations and the ecosystem function of pollination. He has established research partnerships with educators and public managers to produce knowledge directly applicable to cope with socio-environmental challenges.
