Postdoctoral Team

Eduardo is a biologist, Ms in Ecology and Biomonitoring (UFBA) and Ph.D. in Ecology (UFBA and UNRN), with experience in the academic sector (research and teaching) and in environmental consulting. His research focus includes the study of pollinators’ biology and ecology, the effect of landscape structure on pollinators, plant-pollinator networks and pollination service, ecosystem services modeling, scenarios modeling and the evaluation of environmental impacts in landscapes and biodiversity. Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher in the Biota Síntese project, he is developing spatially explicit models of pollination and pest control services in the state of São Paulo to identify potential synergies between these services and agricultural practice, as well as areas with potential deficits of this services. In addition, these models will be used to generate future projections of the pollination and pest control services considering climate change scenarios and restoration of native vegetation. These techniques can be powerful tools to support the participatory development of nature-based solutions that aim to enhance synergies and mitigate deficits for the promotion of sustainable land use in line with the maintenance of key biodiversity components.
