Blandina Felipe Viana

Blandina Felipe Viana is a full Professor of Ecology at the Federal University of Bahia, Brasil, with thirty years of experience working on bee managment, biocenotic studies of Apoidea, bee-plant interaction and pollination biology and ecology.  Her main research focuses on pollination service in agroecosystems. She is particularly interested in identifying solutions that make it possible to reconcile agriculture and conservation, through the ecological intensification of agriculture. Recently, her work has focused on the development of initiatives and strategies that bring science closer to society, using transdisciplinary approaches, such as citizen science, for bridging the gap between what people need and want what research can provide.
