Kaline de Mello
Kaline de Mello is a research fellow at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and coordinator of a FAPESP research project- Decision support for the implementation of Payment for Ecosystem Services Programs related to water, carbon and biodiversity. She is also a professor in the graduate programs in Planning and Use of Renewable Resources (PPGPUR) and Sustainability in Environmental Management (PPGSGA) at UFSCar. She works with spatial modeling and landscape ecology applied to public policies and decision support, focusing on research on the Forest Act, Protected Areas, Watershed Management, Ecological Corridors and Payments for Ecosystem Services. She develops studies on priority areas for forest conservation and restoration, modeling of future scenarios for land use and land cover, and the relationship between land use and land cover patterns with water quality.
