Marcos Buckeridge

Marcos Buckeridge is a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo. He was President of the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo, a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and Scientific Director of the National Bioenergy Laboratory (CNPEM-Campinas). Since 2018 he has been the director of the Institute of Biosciences at the University of São Paulo and is currently Senior Advisor of the Rector of the University of São Paulo. He is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and currently coordinates the National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT) of Bioethanol and the Synthesis Center USP-Global Cities of the Institute for Advanced Studies at USP. Buckeridge also directs the Bioenergy and Carbon Capture System program of the Greenhouse Gas Innovation Research Center (RCGI, Shell-FAPESP). He has more than 200 scientific publications on Environmental Sciences, Bioenergy, and Urban Sciences.
