David Montenegro Lapola
Research scientist at the Center for Meteorological and Climatic Research Applied to Agriculture – CEPAGRI at the University of Campinas – Unicamp. He worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Ecology of Unesp Rio Claro in the 2011-2017 period and as August-Wilhelm Scheer Visiting Professor at the Technical University of Munich in 2017. He has research interests in global change ecology, land-use change, ecosystem services, impacts of climate change on biodiversity, earth system modeling and sustainability science. He coordinates the Amazon-FACE program: elevated atmospheric CO2 experiment and its effects on the ecology of the Amazon rainforest, and is a member of the scientific committee of the AIMES (Analysis, Integration and Modeling of the Earth System) project, linked to the Future Earth initiative. He is registered in the graduate programs in Ecology and Environment & Society, both from Unicamp.
